Satay
The original birthplace of Satay is Indonesia. Thanks to its amazing taste, the dish has been carried to other countries such as Malaysia, Singapore and China. I believe that no one can deny a stick of meat with seductive aroma and luscious look. Chicken, beef and pork are main ingredients of Satay. The meat is cut into thin slices, stripes or little bite size pieces, then it is marinated in a mixture of herbs and seasonings. Turmeric is also an important ingredient because it creates yellow colour to a Satay dish. One more reason makes Satay become special is that people often use sticks made of coconut palm frond and bamboo to skewer the meat because its savour makes taste of meat fresh and mild. Satay is usually served with sauces, which are peanuts or pineapple ones, and some typical vegetables like cucumber and onions.
